Harold Brown died from unspecified causes on 7th March, 1918, while in England. The 7th Middlesex battalion was part of 167 Brigade of  56th Division that had been on the Western Front since 1915. It is not known if he died from wounds or from illness, both of which took their toll of those on active service.
